Spring reminds me of second chances, hope, rebirth, waking up, longer days, warmer days, and my birthday (I am a May baby). So, of course, I scheduled the launching of my new website, Mark This Day With Love, and blog, Love Fests, to be on the first day of Spring.
Humanism encourages us to make each day meaningful – to live our life with an understanding that each new dawn presents us with an opportunity to live purposefully so that our yesterdays are filled with good memories and our tomorrows are filled with visions of hope.
Love Fests will consider the how, what, why, and when of distinguishing our days from other days without religious markers.
I celebrate spring. I like seeing all the flowers begin to pop up and hearing the birds begin to sing again in the morning. If I pay attention, and stop for a moment to listen and see the forsythia at the side of the road blooming or how the trees seem a shade green or red, I find myself smiling…I shed a down vest for a jacket or sweater and I smile again.
Every season illustrates nature’s cyclical change – spring’s is awakening. We see nature beginning to wake up. Perhaps you are experiencing an awakening of some kind, a new beginning, a blossoming of self, a new awareness. Yes? Then why not find time to celebrate this moment either with yourself or with others who helped you realize or become this new person. This awakening deserves to be commemorated in some form. Most importantly, if only you see and feel this change, do not forget to acknowledge this new self to you. Go out and dance, sing, and shout.
This month, I am celebrating the launch of my new website.
